On behalf of the math modelling team, I thank you all for the overwhelming response for the Math modeling teaser contest. After some interesting search for math in everyday life, get ready to rack your brains with actual math problems.

MATH MODELLING-TEASER CONTEST
All those math geeks out there! Here is a chance to show us your passion for mathematics. With just one week to go for the event, here comes the Math Modelling-Teaser contest.
The theme for this year's math modelling event is that "There is Math in everything". So, this is all you have to do. Prove it!
To participate in the teaser contest, send in interesting images/photographs, which reflect the theme mentioned above, to the email id given in the contacts tab. Here are some images to give you some idea..
The best entries will find their place in the events page and also the actual event poster. In addition to these, there are some attractive prizes to be won.
So, what are you waiting for.. Rush in your entries today.
Prelims:
The teams will be subjected to a round of written prelims where their problem solving abilities will be put to test. Participants will also be tested on the way they approach the problems. Remember, its time to get back to the basics. Four teams will be short listed for the finals.
Finals:
The finals is also a written round where the teams will asked to use mathematical principles to model real world problems. This round requires a thorough mathematical background and analytical reasoning.
- Teams shall consist of a 2 participants.
- Only in case of a tie in the finals, the previous round scores will come into play
- The decision of the judges would be final.

Rules:
- This is an individual event.
- All entries must be mailed to the email id provided at the contacts tab of this event.
- Send us your solutions in .doc or .pdf format on or before 27th January.
- Send your name, college name and contact number along with your solutions.
- In case of a tie, early bird gets the prize.
- This is a separate event and is in no way connected to the onsite math modelling event.
1. In what all domains will the participants be tested?
The participants are expected to have a sound knowledge of higher secondary mathematics. Period.
2. Do students from any particular department have an upper hand?
No. We shall make sure that all participants have a fair chance.
