                  The business plan is the embryo that turns into a multi million dollar business with global recognition. And here's the incubator to turn your innovative ideas into real businesses.    

 

                    At the Kurukshetra Business Plan Competition,you get a unique opportunity to put forward your business ideas in front of an eminent panel of judges, who evaluate the viability of the plan and provide invaluable suggestions to make the proposals more effective.

                    With ever more effort, time, money and brains being pumped into new ventures with every passing year, this is a must-participate event for aspiring entrepreneurs, who want to test the goodness of a business plan that they have developed.

                 So, capitalize on your creative differences and feel your way into the business world !!


PHASE I: Participants are required to submit the complete business plan in accordance to the mentioned guidelines.

PHASE II: The shortlisted teams (finalists) will be allowed to attend a workshop on entrepreneurship. They can interact with the mentors who will be conducting the workshop, so as to improve their plan.

PHASE III: The final teams will have to present their Business plan to the judges. The presentation time is 10 minutes which is followed by Question Answer session for about 3 minutes.

Important Dates:

  • PHASE I (Submission of Complete Business Plan ) is over.
  • Last Date for Submission of Business Plan ppt* (Finalists): January 15th, 2008. Entrepreneurship workshop and Final Presentation: During Kurukshetra.

 *ppt- visual aid, to be used in the final presentation ( example- PowerPoint, Flash, PictureClippings).

  General Tips regarding the visual aid:

  • Use graphics, schematic diagrams, and figures to make the presentation effective. Keep text to minimum possible.
  • Size of lettering and clarity of presentation materials are important. For letter size, we recommend Times New Roman with font size 24 points or larger.

Word Limit: Max of 10 pages (not more than 500 words/page)*

1.For writing the B plan, a team may follow 'any course' that seems suitable to its particular need. However, we recommend a generic scheme for the same which can include the following:

2. The font should be 12 pixels Times New Roman with a gap of at least 1.5 between
two lines. Suitable font sizes can be adopted for headings and sub-headings.


3. The title page of the B plan must contain the topic of the business plan, name of the members as on their college ID-cards, name of the college(s) to which the members belong, a common email address and contact number.

 Rules

  • Each team must formally present their B plan in the competition. Presentations must be no longer than 10 minutes.                                                                              
  • A 3-minute question-and-answer session will follow the presentation of the Business plan.
  • Presentations should be accompanied by visual aids. An LCD projector will be available in the contest hall.
  • A team can send more than one entry.
  • A person cannot be a part of more than one team.

  General:

  • Team of Maximum 4 - all members should be full time students (either graduates or undergraduates).
  • Proposed business plan should not be in violation of any intellectual property rights.
  • The winners will be paid only 10% of the prize money at the end of the event and the remaining amount will be given when proof of venture startup is given and verified by contest organizers. Decision of contest organizers is final.

1. Can I choose any subject of my interest in doing the business plan?

Yes, it can either be your own innovative product or existing product. You can also take service sector for that matter.


2. What is the difference between executive summary and business plan?

Executive summary is the prototype of the business plan. Executive summary should be short and should reveal the whole idea of the company and its strategy while business plan gives full description and explanation of the strategy.


3.Will the final presentation be a closed-doors event (not open to audience)?

If you want it to be so, then necessary arrangements wiil be made.


4.Can I use business planning software?

Yes you can use the Business-planning software as it helps you to organize and guide you through the process
