WATER ROCKETRY
Total prizes worth Rs.18,000

Water rockets are made out of plastic pet bottles. The bottles are one of those rare miracles of serendipity: although designed for something else altogether, they are nearly perfect for making water rockets. They're designed to hold liquids at high pressures, they're lightweight, and have a conveniently located ring molded around the neck that's handy for holding the bottle down while pressurizing it. About the only thing that could make them better is to have the fins and nose cone molded in for you.
MISSION
Your mission is to Design and fabricate a Multi–Stage rocket (minimum of 2 stages) using pressurized water as the only mode of propulsion.
CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION REQUIREMENT
1. Water and air pressure will be the sole source of propellant.
2. Do not use glass or any pointed and sharp objects to construct the rocket. Use of these materials will automatically disqualify the contestant from the competition.
3. The maximum allowable pressure inside the pressure vessel is 80psi.
4. The use of parachutes or deployable staging is entertained.LAUNCHER
1. The nozzle adapter of the launcher will be made to suit the mouth of coca cola pet bottles
1. The primary criteria is that your rocket should fulfill the mission stated in the problem statements tab
2. All rockets which qualify for evaluation will be judged based on:
a) Maximum horizontal distance traveled
b) Design of the rocket
c) Stability of the rocket during its trajectory
The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. The rocket should have a common nozzle adapter which is described in the problem statements tab.
2. A maximum of four (4) members per team are allowed.
3. The rocket should have minimum two stages and maximum of three stages (non deployable also allowed)
4. Capacity of the vessel used in each stage should not be more than 1.5lt
5. Commercially fabricated products cannot be used.
